Teaching, Learning and ICT

The Internet is a tool for professional development, for productivity and publishing and for collaboration. Although it is important to understand the value/benefits of the Internet, teachers must model its ethical and responsible use to encourage students to develop higher order thinking rather than a cut and paste mentality.

Outcomes:

To develop

  • a thorough understanding of creative commons, copyright and the ethical use of the Internet,
  • an appreciation of the dynamic nature of technology and the need to engage the technology literate students of today
  • knowledge of Web 2.0 tools for productivity and publishing
